Keep up the fight... Don’t give up... so many of us support you and will actively pray that the history and authenticity of our Christmas heritage remain highlighted in the public forum... regardless of what
ANY other group, especially the ACLU thinks...
 
I have developed the ability over the span of my life... to avert my eyes from things that I find offensive... surely the people who find historical icons of the Christmas holiday offensive, can just as easily look away from such displays as well.
 
I'm so encouraged about the stand your town is taking against such insanity... please pass this note on to all who stand up against these ludicrous groups that would tell us how to celebrate our holidays... and thank them for representing the hearts and minds of those of us who still believe in our Country and the freedom that it is built on.

In my late teens and early 20's I had many friends in Berkley and northern Southfield so I was out there quite frequently and I loved seeing your Christmas display.

I applaud you wholeheartedly for standing up to your city council (who was far too quick to raise the white flag to the ACLU) and also for standing up to ACLU. I wish you success in your vote on November 6th.

I’m a Vote Yes supporter.  What seems reasonable to me is that when the ACLU attorney 1st approached Council, she just asked that we make our Christmas display compliant. Seems pretty reasonable to me. Make it compliant and all will be fine.  It’s the scare tactics of a lawsuit that has totally blown this whole issue out of proportion.

 

I believe many of us just want to continue our national holiday as we have for all these years…its fine by us that we add other beautiful displays of the holiday…at least we are not being stripped of Christmas.

 

Here is what gets me – If the No supporters are in favor of removing symbols of faith from the City….do they also support the removal of prayer that is given at each Council meeting and the omission of the pledge of allegiance?  That is what No voters should also be fighting for so they don’t come across as hypocritical.  Do you think all the No supporters would stand proud and join hands for that to take place?   Stripping our nation of God – I just can’t support that and that is exactly what this issue is looking to do.

 

It’s Christmas – An incredible celebration of Peace, Love and Joy –How can anyone be offended or feel singled out….We are a faith that embraces mankind.

  

You’re right this is an issue close to home and very close to my heart.

Bless you for your forthright movement for the Light and Truth! I attended Angel Elementary from kindergarten through the second grade. I moved from Berkley at that time many years ago. Most recently I returned to the area to live in Royal Oak and Troy from 1989-1991.

Obviously, we are all tied to a great and joyous movement for freedom. I will pray for your victory.

We would love to display a yard sign in the front of our house. My wife and I believe this is a great cause! We actually have a nativity display in front of our house every Christmas. I can either pick it up or someone can drop it off at our house. If anyone does drop off, they can put it on the front lawn or just set it on the front porch.
